Operators must be at least 16 years old. Refresher training is recommended every 3–5 years, or after: an accident or a long period without operating equipment. Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), employers must ensure all operators receive adequate training. Our onsite forklift training is delivered in line with guidance set out in L117 Rider-operated lift trucks Approved Code of Practice and guidance.
